The child Jesus, for the Christian religions, is the fruit of the Virgin Mary and the Holy Spirit. His mother, totally pure, conceived the child of God in his womb by the grace of the third person of the Holy Trinity. On arrival, she was already in labor, no one could receive them, and according to the Bible, they had to be placed in a retired stable, which was full of farm animals. It was in that state of extreme poverty that Jesus, the savior of mankind, came into the world.
At the same time, three wise men from the East, knowing the good news, decided to worship the new king and embarked on a long and tedious journey to meet him. They carried out this great feat by guiding themselves with the famous star of Bethlehem, which indicated the exact place where Jesus was born. With regard to the latter, scientists have recently been able to confirm that, at precisely that time, there was an almost unprecedented astronomical event, which would confirm the version of the star’s existence.
This is how the kings came to the manger, carrying gifts for the Messiah. They gave him gold, to recognize him as a king, myrrh, and incense, as a sign of holiness. They were not the only people who came to the place. There were also several people who were aware of the fact, wanting to prostrate before the child Jesus.
At present, the birth of the baby Jesus is celebrated every December 25, at Christmas, although this date is not 100% confirmed. Even so, on this special day, the love of the Messiah is remembered and people decorate their Christmas trees with miniature cribs and exchange gifts, imitating the action of the wise men. These gifts are mainly intended for children who live with us, as they represent innocence.
Although Christmas is celebrated in a different way in each country, with specific customs, the common point of all these family gatherings and of such joy remains the same: The renewal of faith in Jesus, thanking the value of the Virgin Mary, our intercessor with God, and the understanding of Joseph, the carpenter who taught the office to him and accepted him as if it were his own son.
