Jesus Praying Hands
Our hands are subject to do good things and bad things; in the Word of God we find the word hand has a strong metaphorical sense; you can find phrases like:
“Thy maid is in thy hand,” Genesis 16: 6,
“Into your hands I commit my spirit“, Psalm 31: 5
“I have given Jericho into your hand“, Joshua 6: 2
“…rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians”, Exodus 3: 8, and more.
At other times the word hand symbolizes strength or power. We can see in Deuteronomy 8:17 “My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me” but today I want to do importance in the laying on of hands and praying hands, which is the subject we will talk about.
Consider yourself privileged if you have hands; many men do not, but thank God His goodness and mercy.
Let me tell you to look at your hands; turn them round and round; examine your fingers, your nails etc. Today you have done many things with them; review and analyze all those things.
Well, I will say that the laying on of hands, in ancient times, was an act by which a blessing is symbolized. When Jacob blessed Ephraim and Manasseh he put his hands on their heads. Genesis 48:14.
In the New Testament Jesus blesses little children by laying his hands on them and praying. Matthew 19: 13-15.
Another very important thing is that Jesus laid his hands on the sick and healed them. Matthew 1:41.
